It's MY Birthday Month!!
Ok---so I've stolen the phrase that Kristie has made soooooooo famous!
But asked dear hubby this morning if he knew what today was and he said "February 1st". I said, "Very good--just so you remember that it's the first day of my birthday month---and I expect to be treated accordingly. ;-) Needless to say, at 7am, I got a really strange look! I even offered to give him a list of ways he could follow along---again--for some reason---I got a strange look!
I simply cannot imagine why he gave me those looks! ;-o

Anyhow, just thought I'd update while my kids are having music---Lord help the music teacher! I now have my hi-speed up and going on BOTH computers at home - and I love it. Thanks to my wonderful bro-in-law/computer tech/Emma Grace's daddy, my desktop computer no longer shoots fireballs at me--SO FAR! He said he is pretty sure he cured the problem. However, I cannot seem to network my printer to both.
He told me how--but it did not work last nite so I'll get further instructions later.

Right now, he and my sister have KIDNAPPED Emma Grace and taken her across--hmmmm- two or three state lines. I even heard rumors that Grammy stretched out across the driveway as they were trying to escape--but to no avail!! Anyway, according to EG, the view from the hotel window is "COOL"! Is that too cute or what? I hope it's not too cold for her to go on to Atlanta and run the bases at Turner Field. After all, like Mommy, like daughter!!

Oh well---not long before the natives go home to their parents.
YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Another post---another time!!
(The clock on this thing is NEVER right--but it is now approx 2:30pm.)

Later!!!!

Aunt Margie's Recipes
Long before Aunt Margie had her stroke, we were going to scrapbook her recipes. After the stroke, she decided to let me digiscrap them because we just didn't have the time to "manually" scrap them. She could not use her left hand very much--and it was just going to be too hard for her. She had copied a bunch for me, and I had already begun creating the cards before she died. I am so glad that she got to see ( and offer her approval ) some of them. I even worked on them at the hospital when we stayed there so much while she was in ICU. So now I'm left to "wing-it" so to speak. I have not worked on them since she died; but I'm starting back on them now. I also found a cookbook with a sticky note with page numbers that she was going to copy for me. I think I can figure out which recipes were hers; after all, I sampled each one AT LEAST once!!!

I've posted the ones I'm finished with; I will print them as 4x6 photos and put them in small, decorated photo albums to share with all the family as she wanted to do. I'll add the new ones as I get through with them. HOWEVER--having the recipes and ingredients DOES NOT give you her "touch". SO--what we have here are just her recipes; I don't EVER expect any of them to taste the same as we all remember them. BUT maybe-just maybe--we can make them edible!!

ENJOY--and do not ask me for advice on them---I am the LAST person you'd want cooking advice from!!

MINOR (OR MAJOR) SETBACK: Tonight I went to home computer to get it ready for the Wild Blue guy to come tomorrow. A couple of weeks ago, we thought we smelled wires burning in there, so I had totally unplugged the computer while we were staying at the hospital so much.
Thank God I did! Tonight when I plugged it in I did not EVEN have time to get my head out from underneath the computer desk before SOMETHING shorted out in the back of the computer and shot fire and smoke everywhere! (Need I tell you that I thought I was going to have to go change my underwear?) Anyway, I quickly yanked the main plug from the wall and everything was okay. I just hope it did not damage my hard drive---I have a LOT of pictures that aren't backed up yet. I knew it was only a matter of time b/c the fan had stopped working in the back of the unit---that is why I never left it on when we weren't using it. That's where the fire shot from so HOPEFULLY that's all that shorted out. My wonderful brother-in-law/computer tech advisor/Emma Grace's daddy has said he will look at it to see if it's fixable or if I'm down to just a laptop-which is okay for now I guess. Guess I'll just HAVE to load it up and take it down there--hmmm--I can get Emma Grace kisses while I'm there ;-) !!!

Oh well, it's midnight and I have to teach the kiddos tomorrow so I guess I'd better go to bed.

Nitey-nite (again)

BOO HOO---No Snow Day :-(
We danced; we prayed; we begged; some of us almost cried---but to no avail. We only got to see a little sleet and a few snowflakes. Lots of schools around us got out early--but nooooooooo--not us. Oh well, maybe there will be another time. We really did not pray for bad weather---just enough to get us out of school. We had 6 kids out in each homeroom--and another few ck'd out---several are out all week with the full-blown flu. Just what we need trying to get them ready for the dreaded iLEAP test.

Not much to say tonite. I'm nursing an all day headache that hurts from shoulders up. I've GOT to get a chiropractor appt or something--I'm tired of it hurting all the time.

I'm very glad Emma Grace is feeling better and that her rash was not so bad. I've GOT to go see her----I miss her TERRIBLY!! She's growing up so fast---and getting cuter by the second!! (I'm not biased you understand!! ;-)

Well, I'm off to read my daily digiscrap blogs to see if they have any freebies to download. We are scrapbooking Friday nite at Kandace's--I think I heard her mention STEAK!!! Abby will go with me--she LOVES being Mother Hen to Dawson and Mallory. I'm enjoying it while I can---I know soon she won't want to do anything that I want to. I watch some of the 3rd and 4th graders and the way they act and I tell her if she acts that way, I'll whip her butt. She says "Oh no, Mama, I'll never act like that!"--We'll see---I sure hope she's right---but somehow I feel that will change along with alot of other things as she gets older. So for now--I'll just enjoy it the way it is and face the rest later!

All for now---talk later!

Long Time---No Blog!
Oh well--I was afraid I'd be no good at this!! I can't even keep up a simple little daily log!(or weekly--heck not even monthly).

So much has happened since that last post. It would take more room than you know to fill it all in--soooooooo, I don't even think I'll try.

I guess the biggest thing that went on was Aunt Margie's seizure episodes that began the night of Dec. 20th. We spent almost 3 wks in the ICU waiting room--almost every night--until the night of January 2nd/3rd. She passed away at midnight; and we had her funeral on January 6th. It has been quite a shock to all of us--one that almost does not seem real. We all miss her terribly; but all of us have a lot of good memories and fun times to recall, no matter how long we've been in the family! I am still working on her digital cookbook; I'll be posting the recipes as soon as I get High-Speed---hopefully some time in the next week or so.

We all had a great Christmas---it just all seems so like a slow blur.
Let me take a moment to thank everyone for ALL of the nice things that Roy, Abby, and me got for Christmas. We had to leave Mama & Daddy's so quickly after opening gifts the evening of Christmas Day that we hardly had time to really look at all the really great stuff we got.

Oh well, I need to get up and do some more to the house. If anyone came to see us, we'd have to meet them on the carport OR hide and pretend we were not home! This place is a disaster zone--and most of the disaster material is MINE! We actually took away 8 bags of garbage Friday nite--and that didn't even get us started!! I SERIOUSLY need to get rid of ALOT of stuff--and put other stuff in the proper places(like CLEAN clothes!) I want a clean and neat house---but I just don't want to put forth the effort to get it that way!
I know--that's the definition of LAZINESS!

Tomorrow we are out of school for MLK's b'day---and HOPEFULLY it will freeze and snow tomorrow nite so we do not have to go back to school Tuesday!! (Wishes, wishes ;-))

Anyway---now that I have updated I'll TRY to do better. Gotta call and ck on my precious Emma Grace---she has Roseola--a virus--that causes high fever and then she will break out in a red rash. They said it just has to run it's course. Her DADDY says she is suffering from "Aunt Tammy didn't come see me--itis" I'm gonna whip him the next time I see him for making me feel guilty :-(

Abby is spending the night so she doesn't have to get up early in the morning when her mom goes to work so I think I might go in her room---it got cleaned up--YEAH!--and watch a movie with her.

I'm rambling now so I'll sign off. NITEY_NITE

Thanksgiving Thankfulness
I realize this should have been posted YESTERDAY on Thanksgiving--but we are supposed to be thankful every day, aren't we?
This is just a short list of the things I have to be thankful for - and they are in no particular order:

*** My family ---all of them---for putting up with me when I misbehave or am in a bad mood--which is quite often here lately :-P
*** Health --mine's okay--Roy's feet are good somedays and not so good most days BUT in the last year, look at the GOOD things God has brought our family through:
1. Wes ---NO MORE CANCER!!!(or kidney stones :-)
2. Amber ---I had faith in what God can do--but I sure didn't expect her to be this far so soon :-)
3. Aunt Margie --2 months after stroke and she's walking laps and cooking again(thank God) :-)

And I'm thankful for ALL of you--please don't be offended----but when it comes to Emma Grace ----well thankful doesn't even come close!!

And don't let me forget Abby who daily reminds me what life at Mama & Daddy's must have been like with me around :-)

ALSO---thanks to Mama & Daddy for NEVER letting the 3 of us know what it was like to have to live 2 separate lives in 2 separate homes. You will NEVER know how much that means!!

I could sit here and go on and on---but my sinuses are already so cruddy and I don't want to squawl and make my nose run more!! ( I know that's gross---but everybody I know has this junk--and it won't go away)

So I'll just wrap it up with the words to a very good song by Jeff and Sheri Easter:

Well I know I'm not wealthy; my clothes, they're not new-
I don't have much money; but Lord I have you.
And that's all that matters; and though the world may not see;
Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.

There's a roof up above me; I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table and shoes on my feet.
You gave me your love, Lord, and a fine family
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me!

Twas the Day AFTER Thanksgiving
OK--I know I should be shopping! However, there is this tiny little issue called "no funds available" that enters into the picture. Therefore, I slept in--until little sis Kristie called at 8:06 AM and asked,"Are you still asleep?" Why does everyone ALWAYS ask that when it's VERY obvious that you are not. (Unless you are my moma or daddy---who can talk to you while sleeping and not remember it.) I think I also inherited some of those genes as well. Anyway, I hope Grammy, Kristie, Wes, and Emma Grace are enjoying their outing to all the stores today. I think Aunt Margie and I might go check out Christi's Corner in Jonesboro this afternoon. She does all kinds of monogramming and has all kinds of CUTE stuff - all of which I'm sure won't come home with me. But looking is usually free--unless you break something, of course.

Anyway, I HAVE shopped some today---all my favorite digital scrapbook websites are having huge sales on their stuff and they also have lots of FREEBIES today.
If you purchase, you have something like a month to do your downloads. But the FREEBIES must be downloaded as they come up. VOILA! I'll go to the library today---I can use high-speed for FREE. GUESS WHAT?? They are closed!!! :-( :-o HOW DARE THEM DEPRIVE ME OF FREE HIGH SPEED WIRELESS the day after Thanksgiving. They must have got their Christmas Club money and gone shopping ----oh well. As a last resort, I COULD go to my classroom---ugh--that word nauseates me. BUT the SmartFilter would probably snare me on most of them so it's really not worth the drive out there. I even entertained the thought of sitting in the library's parking lot---it works according to the head librarian--after all, my tax money pays for their service anyway. Hmmmm-havent' totally dismissed that one yet :-)

IF my family is not going to bring my favorite child in the whole wide world (that would be Emma Grace to the rest of you) to the Christmas parade tomorrow, then I just might have to load up the wagon and go bum THEIR high-speed. Imagine---Crowville has DSL :-o
Where IS the justice in that?

Well, I feel my tummy calling for yesterday's leftovers; and since they are across the road, I guess I'd better head on over before they clean the kitchen AGAIN. Some people get really touchy when you go in late and mess up their already-cleaned kitchen.

I'm still working on my header picture for the top of the page. It's cute---but I just have to get it to work. So I'll work on that later.

Hey ---I just found a $5 bill in my pocket---put that with the one in my console in the truck----hey, I just might be able to buy something after all--HOORAY!

Hope all you shoppers have a great day!

Later---Tammy

PS----Kimberly---in answer to your "Where's my link?"
question---you just have to sweetly ask your favorite brother-in-law. He will "automagically" create it for you!!! (I love that word!!)

Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving
I should be in bed; however, I just finished making potato salad, tea, and a pumpkin twinkie dessert for tomorrow. I know---I can't cook. But, if I have to say so myself, that bowl of potato salad I just sampled was pretty darn good! Now all I have to do is get up and make the baked beans tomorrow morning and then cart everything across the road--hopefully without spilling it. Luckily, my truck has this really cool little compartment under the back carpet. When you lift up the "floor", things can sit in there and if they spill---it's all on plastic. A woman MUST have designed the HHR. (By the way---bro-in-law WES was NOT fond of the one he rented. Apparently his had a smaller motor(I believe he called it a"3-squirrel". Mine has the bigger engine ("6-squirrel") so mine has a lot of "get up and go". Apparently Wes almost got run over in Tampa traffic b/c his "squirrels" didn't run quickly enough!! Sorry, Wes!) Oh well--I hear that is only HALF of the traffic horrors encountered during this road trip. (I think Wes was heard asking Kristie--"...and you don't want to fly WHY?!?!?"
I'm just glad everyone's home safe and sound---and almost well. Emma Grace apparently shared her stomach bug with Granddaddy AND Mommy ---she didn't want anyone to feel left out!!

You have to click on my PHOTO link and ck out my new digital page featuring---who else---Emma Grace. I LOVE that picture of her--so I played around with it. I actually came out with something I am proud of. I think I even impressed Wes--- ;-)

Digital scrapbooking is HIGHLY addictive. I still have all the other stuff -- but I never have time or room to work with it. Digital can be done sitting(which I do very well) and propped up on the couch(another of my "fortes" (sp?) And I can haul all my "kits" to my friends' houses or anywhere else for that matter; and if the chance arises, I can scrap!!

Oh well--I better get ready for bed----morning always comes really early when you don't want it to. Not that I don't want it to come---it's just that I wish it would arrive about noon. I really think I'd be a much better person if it did!! :-P

Oh well--nitey nite to the few who read this.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT!!
(Oops--think I'm on the wrong holiday--oh well)

Tammy

First Day of Thanksgiving Break
Today is the first day of Thanksgiving break! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Sorry about the outburst of excitement. The other half of my family made it safely home from Florida last night (or should I say this morning!!) Emma Grace topped off the week by spending late Sat. nite(Sun. morn) in the ER with a stomach bug. Then she kept them hopping on the way home with messy diapers----I KNEW there was a reason I stayed home(just kidding!) Grammy and Mommy took her to the doc today just to be on the safe side; but Kristie said this morning that she seemed to be feeling fine. But before she got sick she had a HUGELY GREAT time with the Disney characters, especially Pooh. But I think it was Mickey who wanted to keep her---boy, he had no idea the package of folks that would have come with her!!

Oh well, I've hardly done anything today. Abby is here; but MOM is picking her up after work so I can't take a shower till we hear from her. If I got in, she'd call right in the middle. I'm trying to make out WalMart list for Thanksgiving dinner. I have to make baked beans, potato salad, and a pumpkin twinkie dessert, along with tea. Hmmmm--shouldn't be too hard.
I think I might also try a Pumpkin Trifle in this really cool dish---don't know yet. I don't want to dazzle them too much---they might think I can actually cook. It's not so much that I CAN'T---it's just that I CHOOSE not to!! ;-)

Oh well---guess I'll fold up clothes. Are they ever gonna make a contraption that folds and puts them up for you? Probably not!

Later-----Tammy

First Entry
I have absolutely NO idea what I am doing---but my WONDERFUL brother-in-law set this site up for me!!
(Thanks Wes--aka Emma Grace's daddy!) This will be short b/c I had a very crappy day at school today, and I am very tired. Needless to say, I will be MUCH happier at 3:07 pm Friday afternoon when my students get to go home and spend a week's worth of "quality time" with their parents!! ;-)

Anyway, maybe this weekend and coming week I can post some pictures and scrapbook pages---which is the main purpose for wanting this little blog in the first place.

In the meantime, I hope the majority of my family enjoys their little trip to Florida--please bring back lots of presents for those of us less fortunate!!
Love ya'll!!! And take care my precious niece!!

Tammy
