Atlanta Trip

Saturday, April 10th, 2004

We left after work on Thursday heading to Atlanta. We made good time up until we got on the east side of Birmingham. Road construction for nine miles delayed us for about an hour. We arrived in Atlanta at about 2am.

Friday morning, Brad and I went to the airport to pick up Josh. We could not have timed it much better. Delayne, Jarrell, and Mr. Roy arrived at about 5pm. That afternoon, we went shopping at Michael's and Best Buy. We all went to eat at Red Lobster after shopping.

Saturday morning, we went shopping in the same area. We went to the Dollar Tree (not impressed) and Old Navy (not impressed). Then we got hungry and went to eat at George's in Virginia Highlands. It was quite yummy.

We then made our way back to Brad's. After a short rest, we headed to the Braves game. The game started off well. The Braves scored in the first inning. Things started looking bad in the 5th. The Cubs tied it up, and took the lead 2-1 in the 6th. But things turned around in the 8th after 13 pitches, the oldest player on the Braves almost hit a grand slam. It turned out to be a base-clearing double. Gave the Braves a 5-2 win. Overall, a very good game.

After the game we headed back to Brad's for pizza.

Busy Week

Monday, April 5th, 2004

This past weekend was very busy…. We went to the Catfish Festival in Winnsboro on Saturday….. Beautiful weather and lots of people…. See photos in photo section…. On Sunday, we worked in the yard, which was long overdue….. See those photos in photo section too….. This week looks to be a very busy one with school and work….. We are leaving on Thursday afternoon headed to the big city of Atlanta to see someone who says we never come to see him unless the Braves are in town….(actually that is true, but just don't tell him….. although we were just there in February, and the Braves were not in town…. photos in photo section to prove it) Right now, we are going to one game on Saturday however, we might go Friday or Sunday or maybe both…. Who knows…. They are playing the Cubs, so they all should be good games….We will certainly have photos posted when we get back…. Since it is Easter and the Easter bunny may not know where we are, the “Atlanta Easter bunny” better have lots of goodies for us…. For anyone that would like to donate muscle/shovel power, we will be starting on our patio soon and would love for you to join us….Also, this past weekend we looked at some laminate wood flooring for 99 cents a square foot at a place in Delhi. We also went to a house in Crowville that just put it down…. It looked very good…. So, if you cannot contribute muscle/shovel power, but can contribute some “green power”, we will gladly accept that…. We might even take plastic…. :-) I guess that is all for now….
