Emma Grace pulled up on the side of her baby bed at Grammy and Grandaddy's house.
We haven't been up to much lately. Just trying to get things back in order. Emma Grace had a little eye infection or something last weekend, so we took her to the eye doctor on Monday. We were going to the pediatrician, but since it iced Sunday night/Monday morning we didn't drive to Monroe. He gave us some antibiotic drops, which is fun trying to drop in her eye. Her eye was better by Tuesday. It has been rainy and cold this week, so we haven't been able to get out and walk. Wes has been feeling a little tired and he was worried, so he got his blood work checked yesterday. His counts were all great, and he is feeling much better. Since he got his blood work done in Winnsboro, we stayed in Crowville last night and we are still here. It is FLOODING, but we will head home soon. I almost forgot….. Emma Grace is trying to pull up on the side of the baby bed. She is growing so fast…. She has started saying daddad a little…
Emma Grace is saying mama and bye bye…. Grammy is here helping us get things back in order, so it is back to the cleaning and straightening up.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Emma Grace now has her first tooth!
Well, we are home. Wes is back at work. Emma Grace and I are trying to settle back in at home. We miss all the company we have had the past month. Emma Grace decided to get a little cold or something, so we took her to the doctor on Tuesday. I tried 11 times to get her doctor here in Vicksburg, but could never talk to anybody. They kept putting me on hold and would never come back, so we took her to a dr in Monroe. This isn't the first time this has happened here in Vicksburg, but they will not have to worry about us anymore. We loved the doctor, but the staff out front was another story. Everything turned out to be fine. Her throat was a little red, so he gave her some liquid medicine. He said we probably caught it before it turned into anything else.
Yesterday, we discovered her first tooth. It wasn't there Tuesday when she was at the doctor, b/c he said, “No teeth yet.” I thought I saw it when we were walking yesterday. Wes saw it last night while he was playing with her. I stuck my finger in her mouth, and there the little sharpe thing was. Yesterday, her tongue was bleeding so I guess she cut it on her tooth. She had been playing with the bottom of her bottle which had a few rough spots on it, so I figured she cut it on the bottle. Wes was pretty excited when he found it. She is getting so big. She loved being outside yesterday, so I think we are about to go out again since the weather is suppose to be yucky the next few days. Guess that is all for now.
WES IS FINISHED!!!! (now, everyone to the tune of dora dora-emma grace loves watching dora) HE DID IT, HE DID IT!!!! He came to Houston and got his radiation… HE DID IT, HE DID IT!!!! It took five weeks with 22 treatments!!!! HE DID IT, HE DID IT!!!! He met lots of nice people, and got to ring a bell!!!! HE DID IT, HE DID IT!!!! HE DID IT, HOORAY!!!! If you don't know Dora Dora, then this means nothing to you. I will try to explain it. Dora sings this song at the end of her show and does a little dance. Wes was going to do the dance when we left the radiation room, but he forgot. We took Emma Grace and Grammy with us this morning, so we could show off Emma Grace. They took us in the radiation room and showed us everything. (There are photos.) Emma Grace was taking everything in. She didn't miss anything. She smiled at everybody, and everybody stopped to talk. She even let a few of them hold her. She and her daddy rang the bell. (They have a bell you can ring when you finish radiation.) She reached up there just like she knew what she was suppose to do. They rang it three times and everybody clapped. They open the door to the waiting room, so everybody can hear and see it. It was very emotional for me.(I guess I am a big cry baby) This has been a long emotional journey, but finally we can see the light at the end of the tunnel thanks to great doctors and many answered prayers.
He met with his dr and will come back in four months. We gave everybody a Valentine treat bag with a tag that said “Thank you for taking care of my daddy….. Emma Grace Monceaux” Everybody seemed to love them. We then left to go to Beaumont to met his parents to get their truck, since U-haul will not rent a trailer to anyone driving a vehicle with Explorer on it. We got the U-haul and got back to the apt just before the flood. The rain didn't last long, but it sure came down fast. We now have the u-haul loaded and we are ready to leave in the morning. I guess that is all for now. I will probably continue to make entries even after we get home, so everybody can see what Emma Grace is up to. Gotta go…. It is going to be a long day tomorrow.
Emma Grace has decided to drink juice. We have been trying for over a month to get her to drink it. She is also clapping along with her daddy when he sings to her.
Wes is down to one treatment…. We went to the aquarium yesterday, and had a very good time. It isn't very big, but it is very nice. They have a HUGE snake, but I didn't look. Well, I did peek at him. They also have beautiful white tigers. Thought he was going to get us one time. Wes and I were standing at the glass and I turned around and he jumped up on the glass. Sure glad their glass held or we would have been tiger bait.
We ate at the restaurant located there, and Emma Grace sat in her first restaurant highchair. After eating, we went outside where they had several small rides for the kids. One ride took you a few stories high and then dropped you. Wes loved it. I, on ther other hand, didn't. It was certainly a good laugh. The ferris wheel wasn't working, and Wes wasn't happy about that. He was looking forward to riding it with Emma Grace. Emma Grace, however, rode her first train and carousel. The train takes you through the shark exhibit. They have a shark head that jumps out of the water with a loud boom, and Emma Grace jumped and covered her ears. She had the funniest expression on her face, too. However, she loved the whole thing, and she didn't miss a thing. I am sure Wes will be putting photos up soon. We have to go pick up our u-haul today. We were going to leave Friday, but the weather forecast is calling for rain. We really don't want to travel in the rain with a U-haul. Guess that is all for now….
HAPPY 7 MONTH BIRTHDAY, EMMA GRACE!!!!
Wes is down to two treatments…. He is still doing ok. He is a little tired, but other than that he is fine. We are going to the aquarium today, which is downtown. We haven't been downtown the whole time we have been here. I am sure there will be lots of media down there, because the Eron corruption trial is going on. Guess that is all for now.
The countdown is on… Wes has three more treatments… He is still feeling ok… They have started treating a smaller area, so the doctor said the side effects will be less now. Not much has been going on. We went to Burlington Coat Factory and Babies R Us yesterday. Emma Grace got some cute spring outfits at BCF. She also picked up some “Easter and St. Patrick's Day wear” at BRU. We also visited the 99 cents store, again. They have neat stuff in there. Tomorrow, we are going to the Aquarium for Emma Grace's 7 month birthday. Can you believe she is already 7 months….. Well, we are off to take some shoes back that I bought and may be to check out Old Navy… They are having a baby sale. We might go to the pond area to take pictures when we get back, if it isn't too cold. Until next time….
