We are back

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

We are back from Houston. We got back to Crowville at 1 am. We didn't get the news we wanted, but the doctor doesn't seemed to be too worried. The spot that showed up last month is still there, and showed up a little more. It increased from 3.7 in SUV to 4.4 in SUV. The increase isn't enough to say that it has changed. However, a spot in the lung also showed up. The radiologist that read the report seems to think it is an infection, not cancer. He has to go back in a month for a chest x-ray. His dr said if he had any symptoms to call him immediately. He said it was still too early to biopsy and run the risk of blowing out his lung, so once again we are playing the wait and see game.

We took Emma Grace to Galveston on Wednesday to see a big “bathtub”, and she had the best time. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe, which is located right across the street from the gulf. Emma Grace wasn't too fond of the elephants that we sat near. She tuned up a few times when they started doing their thing. Other than the elephants, she enjoyed everything else. After eating, we took her out to the beach. I put her feet in the sand, and she didn't know what to think. We then took her to the water. It took a while for the waves to come to us, but she enjoyed it. Once she figured out she could kick her feet and splash, she REALLY enjoyed herself. Some of the waves coming in were big. We took lots of pictures. As we were walking to the rocks so I could clean my feet off, Grammy found two dead jelly fish. They were weird looking. We got a few shells for Emma Grace, and headed back to the car. As we made our way back to Houston, we detoured to Fry's Electronic store. If you have never heard of it, I call it the Wal-Mart of electronics. The store is HUGE. We went to one in Atlanta last year, but this one was neat. It was decorated in NASA stuff, since it is located off the road that takes you to Johnson Space Center. After we left there, we visited Dollar King (not good) and Burlington Coat Factory. We finally got back to the hotel around 10.

Well, this weekend will consist of moving the rest of our stuff. We had the home inspection on Tuesday, and only a few things were found wrong. We offered $500 to the buyer and she took it, so we don't have to fix the things found wrong. They were all minor things, but at least we don't have to worry about them. The guy is coming Saturday to fix the wood around the chimney that was supposed to be fixed when Wes bought the house. I talked to the realtor Thursday, and she said that we will need to change over the utilities, etc as soon as we get back. So it looks like we will be signing the papers on Friday, April 28th.

Tammy and her sister-in-law, Cindy, came Wednesday to the house in Crowville and worked on it. They got A LOT done, and we greatly appreciate it. We were really concerned about how we were going to get everything done, and that helped take a lot off of our mind. We still have a lot to do there, but they got things started. At least, we can stay there once the a/c is fixed. I think Tammy will be back this weekend to help. We still have to move a good bit from Vicksburg, but we will work on that this weekend. Well, it is getting late or should I say it is getting early. Emma Grace is getting her 9 month pictures done this morning at 11, so I better get to sleep. Being gone this past week let us catch up a little on some much needed rest, but it also put us behind in moving, so it looks like some busy and sleepless days/nights ahead. Thank you for all the prayers, and please continue. We appreciate everything that everyone has done for us. We have truly been blessed with such great friends and especially family. Thanks to everyone who has been here the last few weeks. In times like these, we know who we can truly depend on.

Hello from Houston

Monday, April 17th, 2006

Well, we are back in Houston. We got here late Sunday night/Monday morning. Wes had his PET scan at 7:30, and was free the rest of the day. He took a long nap while Grammy, Emma Grace and I went out. We went to Michael's and Target. We came back to get Wes to go eat at Saltgrass. We came back and went to bed early.

Wes had his CT scan and chest xray this morning. He went early and finished early. We ate lunch at the cafeteria. We are thinking about going to the 99 cent store. Tomorrow is a free day, so we may go take Emma Grace to the beach in Galveston.

Emma Grace enjoyed hunting Easter eggs on Sunday. We woke her up around 9:30 and she saw her Easter basket. We then dyed eggs and hide them for her. She would see them on the ground and point. We would hold her and she would pick them up and they would go straight to her mouth. By the time we finished, she had a blue/green/orange mouth. She didn't like the grass poking her. She would fuss if she touched it. I am sure Wes will be posting pictures soon. The most exciting and funniest part of the day was Tammy trying to change Emma Grace's DIRTY diaper. I have a little bit of it on video. Let me just tell you I had to finish it. We finally made our way back to Crowville to take Tammy to her car and to get Grammy. We left Crowville around 4.

Well, I guess that is all for now. Wes will see his doctor on Thursday at 2:30, and we will be headed home. As soon as I can, I will post his results. Please continue to pray that everything will be fine. Later..

BUSY, BUSY

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

The last two days have been VERY busy, and little to no sleeping. I don't recommend having a garage sale at the same time you have to move in a hurry, but we really didn't have much of a choice. However, I am glad we had the garage sale, because we made over $700. We still have several things that we didn't get to, so we are planning to have another one once we get settle in Crowville. We have almost everything moved to Crowville. On Friday, we moved Emma Grace's room, kitchen stuff, pictures, and whatnots. Thanks to Delayne, Karri, Amber, Alizabeth, Tyler, Jeffrey, my dad, Tammy and Grammy. The major furniture was moved yesterday. Thanks to Jarrod, Deanna, Jeffrey, Tyler, my dad, a boy my dad brought with him, Delayne, Tammy and Grammy. We still have a good bit to go, and we still have to get the house in Crowville in order.

Emma Grace sure has been enjoying Amber, Alizabeth, and especially Tyler being around. They have played with her and pulled her around in her wagon. She LOVES her wagon, and doesn't want to get out when it is time to do so. She is really getting around scooting. She is starting to get up on her legs a little to crawl.

Well, we have to head to Houston in a few hours, so I have got to get around and get everything ready. We stayed in Vicksburg last night, so the Easter Bunny could come see her in this house. Tammy came back with us to entertain Emma Grace, so Wes and I could get a few things done. Grammy had to stay at home, b/c she had to get her stuff ready to go to Houston and to get some school stuff ready for next week. She didn't want to leave her Emma Grace, but it was only for one night. :-) And, yes Grammy, Aunt Tammy did get Emma Grace to sleep last night. However, the diaper duty I am not so sure she has mastered yet. :-) Oh, well, off to get clothes ready. Everybody is still sleeping, but they will have to rise and shine in a few minutes. We are going to dye eggs for Emma Grace. Wes says we are hiding them here and when we get back to our new house so Grammy can help her hunt them. Please remember to pray that all of Wes' test come back with wonderful news. Thanks!!

P.S. HAPPY EASTER!!!!

House news, part 2

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

We had two people come look at the house today. Grammy, Emma Grace and I went shopping while they were here, and we met Wes for lunch. Our realtor came at 4:30, and she brought two offers. We picked the one we wanted, and signed the papers. The home inspection guy will come out next week, and if all goes according to plan, we will have to be out on April 28. They offered a bid of $4,000 more than the asking price, so we are pretty excited. We are trying not to get overly excited, b/c things can fall apart. We have lots to do. Grammy started working on the garage, Wes worked on moving stuff out of the computer room, and I entertained Emma Grace. We are going to Wal-Mart and Kroger to get boxes at 10:30, and then it is on to more packing. I have to get in the attic to get a few things out for the garage sale Saturday. Oh, well, gotta go get busy. Later

House news

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

Well, we put our house on the market yesterday, and we have already had three people look at it. The brother of one person came back to look with his wife (they came without a realtor-he was with his brother and his realtor earlier), so I guess we had four people look. Our realtor called tonight, and she says we have two offers for sure. She said there was a possibility of another one. She is bringing someone tomorrow and another agent is bringing one right after her. She told us we would meet tomorrow at around 4:30 to look at the offers. We are trying not to get too excited. We went and got Delayne and Jarrell's trailer yesterday evening, so we could load some things up. Thanks very much, Delayne and Jarrell. We appreciate it. Grammy went home yesterday, but thank goodness she came back this afternoon. I don't know what we would do without her. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, GRAMMY. I think my almost panic attack made her come back. I didn't know what to do when all these people started calling wanting to look, and we still had the computer/scrapbooking room to clean up. We didn't expect people today, but we are very happy. I was kind of worried about people coming next week since we will be gone, but may be I will not have to worry about that. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are in the house selling mood, and it looks as if we might be selling soon. I am off to go work on some stuff. Grammy and Wes are painting the utility/laundry room, and Emma Grace is asleep. This house selling stuff tired her out however, she will probably be wide awake around 2 or 3. Guess that is all for now. Pray that we get a good offer tomorrow, and don't forget to pray for Wes and his test next week. We have been truly blessed so far. Later.

Hi!!!!

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

Well, we went to the Catfish Festival, and Emma Grace had a good time. She sat up in her stroller watching everybody. Every time we heard music she would start moving from side to side. She loves any kind of music. We bought a few things, and Emma Grace has enough hair bows to last a while. It was so many people there you couldn't look at times. We all put sunscreen, except for Wes. Well, he said he put a little on and he got sunburned on his arms. I put it everywhere, but around the top of my collar and I got BURNED. We must have put enough on Emma Grace, b/c she isn't red anywhere. After we left the festival, we made our way to Wal-Mart. I got some fabric to decorate Emma Grace an Easter Basket, and to make something else. We then went to the Mexican place to eat. They sat us in the smoking section to our displeasure, but that was the only place they had for six people. We made them turn the fan on above us to try and move the smoke around… It didn't work, but thank goodness we were finished when the big crowd came in. It was bad enough with only four people in there smoking. Tammy and Abby came over Friday night, and decided to stay Saturday night too. Abby said it was b/c their eyes were too tired to stay open to drive. We were all tired, even Emma Grace. She went to sleep b/f 10, but woke up this morning at 5. Aunt Tammy wanted Emma Grace duty and finally got her back to sleep around 6:30. Tammy and Abby left around 9 or 9:30, so they could make it to church. Emma Grace didn't wake up until 11. We will be going back home sometime this afternoon. The realtor will be back tomorrow afternoon to do her thing and put our house on the market. Oh, well, guess that is all.

Just a note

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

Wes had talked to his dr about doing a PET scan when we go back in two weeks. His dr was concerned that the insurance may not pay for it, and he didn't want us to have to pay for it. He said if he saw anything on the CT scan that he would push for the PET. Our concern was that the CT scan didn't show the spot, so what if it didn't again and something was still there. Wes called them yesterday, and they are scheduling a PET on Monday, April 17. He said that way our mind will be at ease, and I am glad. I talked with a lady yesterday that reads PET scans and she eased my mind a little. She asked what type of scan he got and I told her it was PET/CT and she said that was the best, especially for the type of cancer that Wes has. She said if it was up to her she would push for the PET. Well, the weather is suppose to be really bad this afternoon, so Emma Grace and I might go up to Wes' work. We might go on over to Crowville, since the Catfish festival is tomorrow. Tammy and Abby might come tonight too. Amber and Alizabeth might go with us tomorrow, so they might be there tonight too. Wes said we could have a slumber party. I guess it will all depend on what the weather is doing when Wes gets off. Wes got the front flower beds ready, so now it is time for flowers to be planted. I will probably do that next week. All for now.

Hello from us

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

Wes has been working on the flower beds. He has mulch in the beds lining the driveway and sidewalk. He ran out while doing the bed in front of the house, so we went and got more today from Wal-Mart. He also got some landscaping timbers, so we can finish the beds in the back that we started last year. He also got mulch to go in those beds. Emma Grace and I have been walking while he does this. I would try to help him, but the mosquitos are out and they might eat Emma Grace up. If it were in the day, it would be so bad, and as long as we are walking, they don't seem to bother us. However, when we stop they seem to be around. Emma Grace loves walking around the neighborhood. She doesn't miss anything. The neighborhood walks will be what I will miss the most about living here. Emma Grace is sort of crawling. She scoots on her belly to get things. She raises up likes she wants to crawl, but then she goes to the belly and gets where she wants to go. She loves jumping in her jumper thingy. I thought she was going to out the window today. She is starting to talk a little, but most of the time we cannot understand her. She is saying dadada more, and you can ask her if she is a good girl and she will say “good gurl”. She loves music, and she loves to rock from side-to-side when she hears it. She even will sing/hum herself to sleep. We got her pictures today from Target that we took while we were in Houston. Mr. Hector takes the best pictures. Speaking of pictures, I will call today about getting her nine month picture taken. I cannot believe it has been nine months, since she came into this world. Everyday has been a challenge, but a glorious one. I don't know what we would do without her. She is certainly heaven sent even though she is pulling my hair right now. If you notice the time of entry, it says 2:00, that is a.m. She is WIDE awake. She went to sleep around 10, but woke up when I went to the computer room to watch the video of Wes' bday party. I guess she heard all kids talking on it. I guess that is all for now. My brain is kind of tired. Wes just told me he put some pictures up, so go enjoy.

Hello

Sunday, April 2nd, 2006

Well, Wes and I got the house in order yesterday. We left Emma Grace with Grammy, and it was sure lonely around here without her. We went back around 8:30 to get her. I swear she grew some while we were gone. We made it back around 1, and she didn't go to sleep until after 2. I wasn't able to stay up much longer, but Wes stayed up all night to finish cleaning things. I got up early and finished what I needed to do before the realtor got here. Emma Grace woke up early, but went back to sleep, so I got everything done. The realtor came, and we are putting the house on the market Monday. She will come back Monday to do her thing. We have a few things she said needed to be done, so we will start working on that this afternoon. Well, Wes probably will. I will be doing Emma Grace duty, which is ok, but not for Wes. She suggested painting our bathroom and planting some flowers, which we were going to do anyway. She had a man looking at a house, but his house he was selling didn't go through. However, she said he was still looking to move here from Ocean Springs and away from hurricanes.

The Catfish Festival is this weekend, so we will be going to that, and then back home to get things done before Monday. Grammy is out of school all next week, so she has volunteered to come help us.

Well, Emma Grace and I are off to enjoy the outside and walk.

Happy Birthday, Wes

Saturday, April 1st, 2006

Well, we surprised Wes with a birthday party at Jesse's. I cannot believe we were able to keep it from him. I almost let it slip several times, but I didn't. We had a GREAT time. Thanks to Grammy for everything she did. She had the room all decorated. She also did a slideshow for Wes that was wonderful. Also, thanks to Grandaddy, Tammy, Roy, Abby, Delayne, Josh, Jarrod, DeAnna, Roy, Karri, Jeffrey, Tyler, Amber, Alizabeth, and Tyler's friend (I don't remember his name) for celebrating with us. For those of you who missed it, you missed a fun time.

Emma Grace had a blast. She loved playing with all the kids. It was so much action going on that she couldn't keep still. Grammy let her play with cake… Shame, Shame, Grammy. She also fed her ice cream, which she loved. Wes got money, picture frames, Delayne's special cookies and a hard drive for his computer. He was very surprised, but he said he thought something was up when I wouldn't let him wear his Old Navy St. Patrick's Day shirt.

After all the partying, we came back to Grammy and Grandaddy's. Tammy, Roy, Abby, Karri and Alizabeth came to visit. Emma Grace had fun playing with everybody. She was exhausted, but was still going. I think she will sleep really good tonight. Wes and I have to get back home in the morning and get busy. We have a realtor coming Monday to look at our house, so we have to get things in order. Emma Grace will be staying with Grammy. We might have to twist Grammy's arm, but I think we can talk her into it. It is late and we have a busy day tomorrow, well, actually today.
