Update

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

We made it to Alexandria last night. We are staying at the Super 8. We ate at Tunk's last night, and it was very good. We like to have never found the place. Grammy had been there before, but it was dark and we weren't sure how far it was. We finally found it. As we were leaving, a WAY too drunk guy was having to be carried out of the oyster bar, which is in the bottom of the restaurant. It was taking about four people to carry him, and he stopped half way and wouldn't move. Two cops were talking to them. They had a car waiting at the end of the ramp for him, and they finally got him to the car. I don't know why anybody wants to drink that much, but as most people are stupid.

We went shopping today. Grammy wanted to go to the school supply store, so we went there. After shopping for a few hours, we came back to the hotel and then headed to the ballpark. As we were walking up, I heard there is team mom. I looked up and two of them were waving. They had a pretty good size crowd there to watch them. The game was 0-0 until the 5th inning, and they finally scored a run. They ended up winning 3-0. They invited us to come back to their hotel. The parents were grilling hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs. They also told us they had another gift for us. They gave us a gift box and some pralines. The pralines are delicious. We stayed there until about 10:30. Emma Grace enjoyed herself. She has a new friend, Ruby. Alot of the parents said they had Emma Grace on their refrigerator. One little girl came up to me and said, “You are the team mom.” I said yep. She said where is your little girl, so I went and got Emma Grace so she could see her. Emma Grace had a blast playing with her. Well, it is almost 1, and we have to check out in the morning. They play at 2, so it is going to be HOT. Until next time….

We are leaving for Alexandria this afternoon as soon as Wes gets home from work. The team we are going to watch plays tomorrow at 5:30. Tammy and Abby have been here since Wednesday, and Emma Grace has been having a blast with Abby. Wes had a little medical problem this week, but it seems to have been resolved. All his test came back normal and fine. Emma Grace is not wanting to sleep at night. She will go to sleep(sometimes after a battle) and then wake up and stay up most of the night, but mostly sleep late in the morning. We think it might be her tummy hurting from the whole milk, so tonight we are just going to do formula only. She seems to burp a lot when she wakes up, so we are going to try that. She still wants no part of walking by herself. Although, she will turn loose of whatever she is holding onto but once she figures out she is standing she falls down. She loves potatoes. It doesn't matter how they are cooked, she will eat them. She is starting to repeat words more and more, and she can throw her a FIT. Well, I guess that is all for now. Gotta get ready. Until next time….

The team I was hosting for the state tournament went undefeated, and will play in the world series in Alexandria next Saturday. They got rained out on Wednesday, and almost got beat Thursday night to force another game that night. They were down 5-0, tied it in the 7th, and won it in the 8th. They gave us two pictures of the team, a gift certificate to Jesse's, a signed softball, a card and roses with a ribbon that matched the ribbon they wear in their hair. They gave Emma Grace a Minnie Mouse doll with the same ribbon in her hair. After the game, they invited us to go swimming at the Best Western in Wsboro. Wes came home to burn some pictures for them to CD, and he got his swimsuit and Emma Grace's swimsuit. Emma Grace enjoyed it, but wouldn't let go of her daddy. She would act like she wanted to go to the girls, but would change her mind and shake her head no. They left Friday morning headed back to New Orleans, and I thought they were going to take us with them. They loved Emma Grace and she loved them. They play Mississippi on Saturday, but we just don't know what time. We have reservation near the ballpark for Friday and Saturday night. We will watch them play Saturday, and probably Sunday.

Emma Grace loved watching the softball games. She would clap and scream yyyyeeeeaaaaaa when they would cheer. She will still tell you how old she is by showing one finger. She will show you where her nose is. She still isn't into walking, but will turn loose and freak out. She isn't too fond of real milk. She is so much fun, and loves to watch Barney. She loves to dance, too. She will say cock-a-doodle-do when we say it and she will say goodie, goodie. It is so cute and funny.

Wes has been busy working. He didn't feel well on Wednesday, so he stayed home from work. He was out in the heat at the ballpark over the weekend and the first of the week, and he picked up on some stuff that he was told not to pick up. He was feeling very tired and sore, but he is feeling much better. Oh, well, I guess that is all. Emma Grace is sleeping, so I better go get some. She went to bed early tonight, so she will probably get up early. Later…

Hello

Well, Emma Grace had her 12 month check-up on Monday. She now weighs 22 pounds and is 30 inches long. She was being a character with the doctor. He kept saying she is so cute and precious. She has gotten more gifts and cards this week for her birthday. Winnsboro is hosting the state softball tournament for 13-15 yr olds, so we have been helping Grammy get ready for that. On Wednesday, we went back to Monroe to get stuff for the tournament. On Thursday, Emma Grace and I helped decorate for the banquet that was held Friday night. It looked really good. On Friday night, we went to the banquet b/c I am hosting JPRD WestBank out of New Orleans. They are really nice and funny to watch. Wes has taken pictures of them and is going to make them an 8×10 collage. They played Winnsboro tonight and won. Well, I guess that is all for now, since it is 2 am and I need to get in bed. Oh, well, until next time. Take care.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA GRACE!!!! I will let you know about her day later..

Birthday update

Saturday, July 8th, 2006

Emma Grace had a GREAT birthday even though she wasn't her usual happy self. She was acting as if she skipped the ones and went right into the terrible twos. :-) She looked so sleepy and had just had a nap, but I think she got woke up and didn't finish it. We decided she might be hungry so we fed her, and she felt a little better. She didn't totally “dig” her birthday cake. She played in it a little, and got a little on her face. She almost dumped it on the ground, but luckily I stopped her b/f she did, which didn't make her too happy. I think it scared her when we all jumped to catch it. She didn't have much fun opening the gifts either, but I will not go into that story. She got lots of fun stuff, and we thank everybody for coming and for the gifts. Grammy rented her a jumping thing, and she liked it. We figured after the exciting day, she would go right to sleep…. WRONG… After Aunt Tammy made several attempts to get her to sleep, Wes finally got her to sleep, and she was back up b/f 9 this morning. She also got a special call from Ms. Anna all the way from Russia. She has her 12 month check-up tomorrow. SHOTS…. not looking forward to that. Guess that is all for now…

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

Happy Fourth of July!!!! We went to Lake Bruin and enjoyed the day with the Donnell's. Jarrell, DeLayne, Josh, Jarrod, Deanna, Deanna's dad, Deanna's sister and Deanna's brother were there. Alex, Deanna's brother, helped us keep Emma Grace entertained. He is entertainment all by himself. We put Emma Grace in her red, white and blue bikini, but we had to leave to come back to the ballpark before she got to try her new life jacket out and ride in the boat. She enjoyed watching all the boats and jet skis. It rained on the way down there and started drizzling before we left. We got back to Winnsboro to find out that the ball games had been cancelled, so we left the lake for nothing. Grammy, Emma Grace and I went to WalMart to get stuff to make homemade ice cream and mini hamburgers. We are about to eat that now. Guess that is all for now.

Hello

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006

Not much has been going on. Wes is building Emma Grace a toy box for her birthday. He took off work today, so he could work on it. We are going to Lake Bruin tomorrow to join the Donnell's and crew for the 4th. Grammy brought Emma Grace a life jacket. I am still not sure if I am going to let her in a boat. :-) Auntie Kim was upset b/c she said she needed to ride her jet ski. Tammy and Abby are coming on Wednesday to help us get ready for the BIG day on Saturday. We go to Bossier City on Thursday to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. I was picked for the pre-party show, but only I can go back. :-( Then, of course, the BIG day is Saturday. Emma Grace turns 1. We can ask her how old she is going to be and she will show her 1 finger. Sometimes we have to show our finger first, but she is getting better. She now has five teeth that we can see. When one top one came in, the two beside it started coming. It took so long for her to get one now she is getting them all at one time. She hasn't been fussy just NASTY diapers. She is not liking baby food lately. She wants what we are eating. Well, I better go she is asleep and I need to get busy before she wakes up. Until next time.
