We made it safely to Orlando. I will try to update tomorrow or should I say today. It has been a long day….
Well, I had part of the root canal yesterday. I have to go back on the 28th to finish it. I was scared to death, because I had no clue as to what was going to happen. I kept waiting for it to hurt, but it never did. Occasionally, I felt the needle go in, but most of the time I never knew it. The front part of the tooth still had a little infection in it, so it was a little more sensitive than the back part. I don't know how many shots he gave me to numb it, but it took several. There were times when I could feel little sharp pains, but I figured out if I could endure it then it would go away once he got the nerve out, and I wouldn't have to have another shot. He was a very nice dentist. He kept asking me if I was ok. His assistant kept saying you are going to cut the circulation off to your hand, and I said well I am just waiting for it to start hurting. When I got out of the chair, my shirt and pants were soaking wet from sweating. The overall experience wasn't bad at all, so I guess I got all worked up for nothing. He said it would be a little tender for a few days, but so far it hasn't hurt. My jaw has just been very sore from holding it open for so long.
I had a good birthday. Emma Grace and Wes made me a birthday cake, which we have photos and video from. They also gave me Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill’s new cds, and Wes monogrammed something for me. We will have to post it soon. It is soooooo cute. Grammy got me some perfume. We ate at Copeland’s, since we had to take Emma Grace to the doctor Monday afternoon. She has had a cough and snotty nose for about a week. She has had no fever. I called them last week and they called in some medicine for her, but it didn't seem to work. It was mostly for the cough. Since we are going to Disney on Saturday, we decided that she needed to get checked out so she wouldn't get sicker. He said everything looked fine, but she had a slight infection. He prescribed an antibiotic. She HATES taking it, so we have to trick her and put it in her sippy cup. Last week, she would cough right after she went to sleep, and then that stopped. Last night, she decided she would have a few coughing spells. She hasn't coughed much today, but still has the snotty nose. She REFUSES to leave her clothes on. If she comes in the living room with them off, she will tell us that she doesn't know where her clothes are. If you go in her room and find them off of her, she says will tell you exactly where they are. She is our little entertainer. She can repeat almost everything she watches, and LOVES to sing and dance. It doesn't take much to have her dancing. She is talking so much too, and is SO dramatic about everything. When you ask her what her name is, it is so cute how she says it. I think we have it on video, so maybe Wes can get it on here. She also loved to walk around and sing happy birthday to me. She would go in her room, and we could hear her in there singing happy birthday to mommy. It was so cute. I don't think we have it on video, but we might. We went to the fall festival at the school last night, and she LOVED the pick up the duck game. She didn't want to leave it, but other kids had to play. We took some of our stuff over, and I sold several ponytail ribbons and bows.
We leave Saturday for a week of Disney. We were going to leave on Friday, but Wes got a call Monday to speak at a Relay for Life meeting. The meeting is from 10-12 Saturday morning, so we will leave as soon as he is finished. When they called him about speaking, they told him that he is being considered to be honored at next year's Relay for Life.
Wes has gotten some new photos up. I think he put some halloween ones up. Emma Grace went as Minnie Mouse. I forgot to paint her nose black, but she was still cute. Maybe he can get the videos up soon. I added a block over to the side for Christmas list. It is located right above the photo list. I haven't put anything on it yet. Well, I guess that is all for now.
The entry before last, I asked you to pray for Hallie Beth Gravelle and her family. Please continue to pray for them. She passed away Sunday morning after battling cancer for over four years. She was such a precious little girl. You can leave comments for the family on her Caringbridge site (which I listed on that entry) or by going to www.gillfirstnational.com.
Well, the vanilla stopped working. I woke up Tuesday morning around 3 in throbbing pain. All of my teeth, top and bottom on the right side were killing me. I could understand the bottom teeth hurting since the bad tooth is on the bottom, but I don't understand why the top ones have to hurt. I drowned it in vanilla (which didn't work), and put a hot washcloth on it. It must have worked, because I was able to go back to sleep. My appointment was at 11, so I was extremely nervous. I HATE going to the dentist. I was scheduled to have my teeth cleaned and to check the tooth out to see what needed to be done. The girl looked at my tooth and said I don't really see anything wrong with it, and your teeth look really good considering you haven't had them cleaned since 2002. I know, I know I should have gone, but as I said earlier, I hate going to the dentist. She did an x-ray and found the problem. The tooth has a filling in it, and a cavity had formed under the filling. Also, my tooth had become abscessed, so that is why I was hurting so bad. She went on and cleaned my teeth, and even worked on the one that was hurting. I was surprised it didn't hurt. When she pulled the floss out of the tooth that was hurting, I felt a pop and something in my mouth. It was part of the tooth. She said, "Well, I guess it is broke." At first the pain stopped, but before I left it was killing me. They couldn't do anything to it because it is infected, so they gave me a prescription for antibiotics and pain medicine. I went and go that filled, and by the time I got home I was in tears. I took the medicine and it relieve it; however, the pain came back later on in the day and NOTHING would work. It wouldn't be so bad if all of the teeth on the top of the right side were not KILLING me. I finally went to sleep, but woke to PAIN and took more pain medicine. I slept a little bit, and at times the pain would go away, but only to come back. Right now, it is not hurting. (thank goodness) However, it is still there. Every once and a while a pain shoots through it. I have an appointment for a root canal Tuesday at 8. Keith's (works with Wes) wife works at a dentist office in West Monroe or Monroe, and got me an appointment. I originally had an appointment at my regular dentist, but something happened and I will not be going back there. (no going into it) Wes got Keith to call her this morning about getting a different type of pain pill, because these don't seem to be working. However, I am allergic to codeine, and that is what they give when darvocet doesn't work. Right now, I think I have taken so many darvocet that they must be working. As I am typing, I am falling asleep and feel like I am floating. So, if this entry makes no sense or says something crazy, I am drugged up. The good part is that I am not in pain right now. Hopefully, by tomorrow the antibiotic will have kicked in and gotten the infection out and it will feel better. They say once the infection goes away the pain will go away or at least not be as bad. I hope so, because if it doesn't, it is going to be a long weekend. This is just what I wanted for my birthday (which is Monday)….. a toothache and root canal…. It could be worse though.
Before I go, I want to ask everyone that reads this to please pray for Hallie Beth Gravelle and her family. She is 5 yrs old, and has neuroblastoma. You can go visit her Caringbridge site at http://www.caringbridge.org/la/hallie//, and leave her and her family encouraging words. When you read their journey, it makes you so thankful for what you have and you realize that small trivial things really don't matter. Such as my tooth ache…..
We did ok at the Natchez show; however, we didn't do as well as we did at the Vidalia show. I don't think there were as many people there, but this was inside and the other show was outside. Emma Grace decided to develop a fever Friday night, but it was gone after Tylenol and Motrin. She was fine the rest of the time. By the way, I HATE this time change. It gets dark WAY too early. I guess we will be off from shows for a while. I was going to do the Shop Til You Drop in West Monroe, but everybody says no. The last few times we have gone it hasn't been much to it. I guess we will not be doing anymore until the spring.
Next Friday, we leave for Disney World. I cannot believe it is almost Thanksgiving. I book our reservation for Thanksgiving lunch at the Animal Kingdom, since that is the only place that had reservation for lunch. We may change that because we had talked about going to Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving.
Aunt Tammy just got back from Texas Motor Speedway. It sounds like she had a REALLY good time. She was able to go into Tony Stewart's pit before the race was over, and she got to eat lunch with Dale, Jr. Emma Grace talked and talked to her tonight. You can certainly tell they are kin. Aunt Kim has sold her house, and has bought a condo. She is going from a house that had about 900 or less square feet to a condo with 1300 square feet. Not sure of when she will be moving in. I know she has been working on it. She would have been so proud of Emma Grace the other night while we were watching the LSU/Alabama game. When LSU sacked Alabama's quarterback and recovered the fumble, Emma Grace was up at the T.V. and threw her arms up in the air to signal a touchdown and yelled touchdown. Although, it wasn't a touchdown, it was still cute. They did eventually score a few plays later.
We are trying to pick out a tub/shower, whirlpool tub and shower. I found a tub/shower for Emma Grace's bathroom, but the numbers didn't match on the Aqua Glass and Lowe's website. We have to have the specs off of it to give to the plumber, so Wes is going to call Lowe's to check on it.
Well, I am going to try and lay down. One of my back teeth has decided it wants to KILL me. It started Saturday night, and got worse and worse Sunday. It got so bad today that I was crying and Emma Grace came up to me and said, "Oh, no, you sad." She would tap me on my face and say ahhh. She was so sweet. I finally got it to stop hurting by putting vanilla flavoring on it. I found it on the internet, and momma said she had heard it works. I am thinking I need to go and pour the bottle on it now, because it is killing me. I have an appointment at 11 in the morning, and I HATE going to dentist. However, at this point I am ready for some relief. Later…
