We got home Thursday night about 11. All of the tests were clear, and we go back in six months. If all are clear in six months, then we will not have to go back but once a year. The doctor said Wes could have his test done here, but Wes said he would rather go back there since they are familiar with him. Also, he only has to have a PET scan, so he was happy able not having to have anymore CT scans. On Wednesday, we went to IKEA, and that is the neatest store. I could have spent some money in there. As you walk through it, they have different ways to set up living rooms or bedrooms. The focus on mostly small spaces, but it was still neat to see all the stuff. It is a Swedish based company. You can get a map of the store, which also has a space for you to write down what you want to purchase. The tag has the aisle and shelf number on it. You write that down, and before the check out counter you go and find your stuff. It is two stories. You enter on the first floor, but have to go up the elevator or escalator to get to the showrooms. You follow the arrows and the floor and you don’t miss anything. I couldn’t believe all the stuff they had in there. We brought a few things for Emma Grace’s room. Also, you have to pay for your plastic bags, which is becoming popular in bigger cities and foreign countries. They were 5 cents a piece. One man told them, “Well, yes I need a bag.” The cashier said, “They cost 5 cents.” His responded with, “Well, I don’t care, I need them.” Then we headed to SW Trading, which sells the bags we have been wanting to get to monogram on. It wasn’t hard to find, but I just wouldn’t want to go in that area at night. As soon as we exited off the freeway, it was nothing but wholesale/trading stores. The one we were looking for was on the other end of the street. The place was full of Red Hat ladies. They were buying up the fashion jewelry. I was told on the phone the only way to get in was to have a tax id number, but they sell to the public. They have a wholesale price and a regular customer price. I thought we had spent way more than we did, so I guess we got a deal. After that, we headed to our regular shopping area (south of Houston, going to Galveston). It is near NASA. We also hit up our favorite Houston eating spot, Saltgrass. I think we have eaten at every Saltgrass in the Houston area. It was good as always. We have eaten at this one before. The only time we have gotten bad service at a Saltgrass has been in Shreveport at the Boardwalk. We have had bad service there twice, and it happened to be the same waitress both times. We dropped Wes off at Fry’s, and Grammy, Emma Grace and I went to Burlington and the teacher’s supply store. After that, Emma Grace demanded ice cream, so we hit up the Marble Slab Creamery close to where we lived when Wes had radiation. She inhaled ice cream. She doesn’t eat much, but she can put away some ice cream. Wes’ doctor’s appointment was at 10:30, and we went in on time, but had to wait on the doctor. He was very pleased with the reports, but told Wes to stay on top of the heart problem. After school on Friday, Grammy, Emma Grace and I went down to the house. The siding people were still there, and they have the entire back porch, south end of the house, and the ceiling part of the front porch done. The electrician had wired a good bit, but still had more to go. Wes spent Saturday and Sunday running wire for internet and surround sound. He still isn’t finished, but he is going to pick up more wire today and try to get home and work on it some this afternoon. We decided before we left to go ahead and get an air conditioner for upstairs. They had run all the wire, etc, but were not going to hook it up to a unit. We decided to go ahead since it would be more trouble in the future. I am not sure when the insulation will be done. I am thinking our builder told us next Monday, and then the drywall will be done the following week. We have gotten so many compliments on the house. Our builder is pleased with how well it went up. Emma Grace tells everybody it is a mess, because it is. There are wood chips, boards, wood shavings, etc on the floor and she cannot stand it. She attempts to pick the wood chips up. Yesterday, Grammy and I took her down to play while Wes ran wire. She had the best time running around, but then wanted to go to Grammy’s house. Emma Grace is getting so big. She talks so much, and mostly in complete sentences. Right now, I hear a little voice saying “Papa, where are you.” She is talking about her pacifier. She likes hiding stuff and then trying to find it or asking you if you have seen it. Last night, Lizzy stayed with us for a few hours, and Emma Grace went up to her and said, “Do you want to see Emma Grace sing in a minute?” Emma Grace was referring to her Playschool Sing-a-long that has a camera that projects on the TV. She had the instruction book and took it over to Lizzy to see if she wanted to see her sing. It was so funny. She had a blast with Lizzy. She wouldn’t let her out of sight. When Wes came in from running the wire, she said, “Dadad, it is izzy,” and then looked at Lizzy and said, “It is dadad.” She amazes me with the stuff she does. She still loves to dance and sing. She can dance to any type of music. The other night a movie was going off and it was playing slow music and she was moving real slow, swaying back and forth. Her favorite thing to do is sing a song, and then say, “What we sing now.” She can point to the correct color when asking her and most of the time she can tell you when something is green, blue, purple, pink and sometimes red. She can certainly tell you a circle and square. When walking on a square tile floor, she says, “That’s a square.” She is growing up too fast. Oh, well, I guess that is all for now. Later….
